Welcome to the Glamorgan Birds Website, a joint venture between the Glamorgan Bird Club and Gower Ornithological Society. The main function of these bodies is to produce the annual bird reports for the East and West of the county of Glamorgan.

 

This website features a number of online services aimed at making your birding in Glamorgan much easier. There are links to a number of pages that will be useful to anyone with an interest in birds, from the casual birdwatcher to the keenest of birders.

The GBC library is available to members of both GBC and Gower Ornithological Society and is housed at Kenfig Nature Reserve. There's a good selection of reference books such as field and site/country guides, reports and many others including other wildlife. <<<BIG BIRDING DAY>>>

The Glamorgan Bird Club Big Birding Day took place at Kenfig National Nature Reserve on sunday 12th. It was a success with a bird list of 53 species, and together with the GBC's involvement with the RSPB organised girl guides visit the preceding day, £110 was raised for GBC and £90 for KNNR. A hearty thanks to all involved and to Kenfig Nature Reserve for hosting the event. JDW

 

<<<Biscay Pelagic>>>

A trip across the Bay of Biscay to Santander has once again been organised andthe dates are 14th - 6th August. It was a great trip last year with loads of good birds and cetaceans and good craic. The cost will be around £78. The current plan is to use a minibus or the like to get to the depature port. If you are interested please get in touch with Nigel Addecott [nigel dot addecott at sky dot com].

The GBC AGM was held on Tues 24th April. Many thanks to the 18 attendees for your support. The minutes, committee members for 2012-13, and accounts, will be uploaded in due course.
